This beer is supposed to be made from Hasukappu Berries, a berry somewhat like a blueberry only found in Hokkaido and parts of Siberia. However, according to the ingredients, they've gone the artificial route, which I could've guessed by the purple magenta color of the drink, and the scary purple foam that protects it.
The smell is an awesome blueberry crumb pie. I don't care if it is artificial--it's potent and delicious and has a certain fresh-picked smell to it, however that's possible
The taste is not like the hasukappu berries I've had, and much closer to blueberry. This is basically a fizzy blueberry beer cooler.
The mouthfeel is actually better than just fizzy, and has a good power to it. I suppose it's drinkable, but I wouldn't have more than one, unless it was free. Without the traces of corn in the taste, I would say it offers glimpses at a lambic taste. They should really lose the scary purple color though--the taste is enough.
