This beer has a groovy pinkish-orange head that simmers down to a ring of cream. The body is an opaque amber color that I thought resembled apple cider, perhaps a strawberry-apple cider.
The smell was light and sweet, fruity, with notes of strawberry.
The taste is watered-down fruit juice, perhaps a blend of strawberry and raspberry. Other than the light fruit taste, it is definitely lacking. The name--Ki-ichigo--means raspberry--but I'm convinced it tastes more like strawberry. As it warmed, a slightly tangy strawberry taste emerged and a creamy vanilla seeped out. No discernable hop presence.
Pretty high carbonation--lots of burping. This beer is fun cuz it's fruity--but it's really not too quality. Good drinkability, like juice. I recommend this beer after a hard workout in place of Gatorade.
It also has "Framboises" written on the label, so perhaps they are trying to relate to a lambic of some sort. Ingredients are: malt (above 67%), hops, and raspberries.
