Poured a beautiful burnt orange color with a big fluffy meringue head.
Smells of citrus and yeast.
Tastes crisp and smooth teeming with hefe goodness. Hints of banana and clove mixed with a bread doughy backbone.
Nice and light in the mouth, a perfect warm day beer, which for the first t-shirt day of spring was perfect.
Overall, I want a few racks of this on hand this summer. Absolutely delicious.

My dings were that it could have been bolder and more pronounced in smell and taste, however, it is very approachable and refined. Damn I like this beer.

Served on draught into a .5L weissbier glass in Klosterbrau. Cost was 2.80 euro for a pint. Reviewed from notes.

A: Half finger head of slight cream, decent thickness, and poor retention. Nontransparent hazy orange colour.

Sm: Alcohol and slight orange esters.

T: Slight orange esters, and an artificial cream finish that doesn't satisfactorily resolve. The wheat foundation isn't really manifesting, but this occurs in a bad way; I wouldn't call it sublte because that epithet seems to have such a positive connotation. Built below average for the style, but well balanced.

Mf: Smooth and wet - just as it should be. Matches the flavour of the body.

Dr: Maybe a bit too high ABV for what the foundation can support. Easily drinkable and worth a try, but not unique or special. A typical hefeweizen. Pricey by Bamberg standards.

500ml swingtop bottle. "best by" date of 12.12.08, but i was assured that this has been refrigerated the whole time. tasted in mid-march 2009.

poured into weizen glass

golden straw color with orange and brown tones. cloudy. lots of head, but just a couple of thick rings of lace.

aroma of toasted banana chips. notes of clove. bready. apple esters. gentle noble hop.

fruity flavor with a spicy finish. malty sweet and bready. moderate to mild bitterness. more banana and clove. a bit watery or diluted however.

pretty smooth, but again just a tad watery. astringency in the finish. crisp carbonation.

the watery elements bring down overall score.

I ordered this (vom fass) at the brewery... but the keg ran out, so I got a bottle. I guess that's better than a stale keg...

A: Hazy straw; fluffy white head, great retention and lace.

S: Banana, with a hint of citrus.

T: Bready, slight banana.

M: Light to moderate body is creamy & smooth. Light to moderate carbonation.

D: Very good.

Sampled from bottle at the brewery in Bamberg.

This weiss bier poured a cloudy, golden brown color with pillowy, white foam that clung to the glass and left lace. The smell was banana and clove malty with some citrus. The smell was "clean". The taste was malty with banana and cloves and a bit of citrus. There was some wheat and yeast as well, and the finish was tangy. The mouthfeel was smooth with medium body and moderate carbonation. Relatively clean overall. This was a very good weiss bier.
