After asking about this beer for many years, I had pretty much given up hope that it was being brewed. But last year (2016) on the day of the Three Holy Kings (January 6th), they brought it back and was glad to find it still available when I was there a week later. It's rare that a beer lives up to such high expectations, but the Schwärzla bock sure did. A real black beauty with a massive never ending tan head, it was sublimely dry for such a strong beer. Rich and malty but enough bitterness to make it quite quaffable. I've had many bocks in Germany and this one is by far my favorite.
