From the draft, it pours a light golden color with a nice firm head that lasts a while. The nose is somewhat grassy, but enjoyable. The mouth gets a light malt flavor accented by a light hop bite. Nice!

Straw color with the lightest of hazes. Modest, non-sticking head.
Light and frothy aroma predominately of malt.
Starts with the lightest of pale malt flavors. The swallow draws out some sweetness and definitive hop bitterness for balance. Decent body for the style but with an elevated carbonation level. Overall, a worthwhile German pils to get a sense of the style.

Clear and golden with a fairly large, snowy white head with decent retention but still not the rocky, sticky mass you want in a really good-looking pilsener. Lovely aroma, though, with evergreen spice that leaps from the glass, a bit of dandelion and a bit of lemon wafting over a mild honey-and-apple malt foundation.
The flavor is characterful and robust, crisply bitter with a lemon-lime snap and just enough bready, almost biscuity sweetness to carry that zest. Carbonation is soft and rolling, which makes the body nice and chewy but also thickens the malt sweetness to a point that approaches sickly. Not the best pilsener out there, for sure, but a good example of the style.

The Landwehr Pils has a medium-golden color, with a very long-lasting, white, frothy head, and very good lace. Nose is not real powerful, but hops are dominant.... a bit grassy but more floral. Body is more thin than medium, and it's a bit rough on the tongue. Has a very mild touch of bready malt, but mostly a grassy, bitter hop flavor. Ok for the style, but not for me.
