I drank this one in September 2023 in the scenic surroundings of Unter den Linden in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Bavaria.
L: Golden yellow with no visible head or carbonation, but bubbles are stuck to the side of the glass, so I suspect I was given a dirty one. 3.25
S: Fresh bread and light floral hops, but there's also a plastic note, which might also be the glass.
T: Sweet with a slightly tangy finish.
M: It was quite highly carbonated in the mouth, which was surprising given the visuals. It was also prickly on the way down, but not overwhelmingly so.
O: I was torn on this one as I suspect the vessel I was drinking from impacted assessment.
Cheers!

On draft at the brewery, it arrived at the table the perfect pilsner - firm white head that hung around, golden color with a nice steady stream of bubbles keeping up appearances. Scent was a bit of grass and bread. Taste was not as bitter as one would expect, but still enjoyable. A nice German Pilsner. Yum!

Stopped into the Burger Keller in Rothenburg on 26SEP09 for dinner and a bier. A 0.3l glass of Toppler Pils accompanied my smoked bratwurst on a bed of spätzle and lentils. Damn tasty meal!
Color was a clear, golden/straw, with a fine and thin layer of white foam up top. Most bubbles clung to the edges, with decent lacing present. Nose was of grassy, herbal hops, though it was mild. Feel on the tongue was a bit spritzy, yet it still possessed a medium body.
Had some light crackery notes, with a solid herbal, grassy hop finish. I also picked up a bit of a spicy hop bite at the end. A solid Pils, though only 1 or 2 would be enough for me.
Zum Wohl!
