Had on-tap in Rothenburg odt, Germany

L: Pours a clear golden color. Thick creamy white head that falls quickly.

S: Malts and new mown hay. Faint hops.

T/F: A very smooth beer, light malt backbone with a mild hop profile, pretty standard for the style. Bready and tasty.

O: A pretty standard German lager, and that's not a bad thing at all. Goes great with a meal.

After a long day walking the city's ancient streets, I drank this one at the Unter den Linden biergarten in Rothenberg ob der Tauber in September 2023.

L: Dark gold, bright-white head, big bubbles racing up the glass.

S: Clean malt, earthy hops.

T: Sweet, biscuity malt. Moderately bitter.

M: Smooth and full. Low to medium prickle.

O: A very nice beer to drink in a Biergarten on a hot day.

Cheers!

Pours an unfiltered golden color with a stable big head.

Smells of lighter, spicy garden herbs, rock sugar among dried wheat and a note of fresh baked white bread.

Drinks light, refreshing and well balanced with a lighter, well fitting effervescence.

Tastes of dried grains, toast and dry, mellow, as well as slightly wooden hops. Has a rustic, herbal middle part with a mineralic effervescence among a subtle, mellowing yeast tartness. Finishes with a touch of caramelized toffee, fresh crushed grains and a light, lingering flowery, slightly lemony hop appearance.

A very well nuanced, intriguing Helles with a great, refreshing mouthfeel and a fitting dry bite to it.

From the bottle, it pours a clear golden amber with a small head, dissipating quickly. Nose is a bit bready and a slight bit grassy, but little to no citrus. Taste is pleasant with no hop or carbonation bite. Feels good in the mouth as well. Enjoyable!

Had on tap in Albrecht-Dürer-Stube in Nürnberg.

It's a clear golden beer with a generous white head.

Smells faintly of fresh pilsner malt, but the smell is very light.

There is some butterscotch to the flavor, and some light grain/bread flavor. For a light lager, it's a nice malt taste. No hint of hoppiness.

The mouthfeel is surprisingly full, and it is more filling than I expected. Not bad.

I had a 1/2 litre of this "vom Fass" at the Unter den Linden Biergarten near Rothenburg. It is a clear Bier, medium-golden in color, with a white head which thins to a thin layer very quickly with minimal lacing. Nice color, but the head is a bummer. Nose is bready/crackery, along with a hint of hops. Fairly smooth on the tongue, with a medium-class body. Bready malt leads off, but is soon overcome by by an earthy hoppiness with a slight hint of fruit like pear or apple. Finish is just a smidge bitter. Not bad at all. Prosit!!
