I bought a few of these bottles in Rothenberg Germany at a booth during the towns 2008 Christmas Market. Only 1.50 Euro, not to bad. The beer pours a caramel amber color that is very clear and not very generous with the head.
The scent is of caramelized malts with a slight spice package that is reminiscent of holiday baking. I can't put my finger on it but it seems to be more of a cinnamon then anything else. It's hard to pin point because the grain nose is so dominating. Very enticing especially as it warms.
Taste is malts, caramel and some toffee. A little on the sweet side for my taste but tis the season. The flavors move from different malts to almost a light fat free gram cracker taste.
Not a fantastic beer but a good holiday beer. At least it's another option to the wonderful German Pils that can get pretty repetitive.
