Had on-tap at Socorro Springs. Also, goes by Eddyline Innaglo Red Chile Porter, at the establishment in Colorado.
A - Pours a dark brown and served with a one-finger tan head. Retention was alright and a thin ring of bubbles survived for most of the meal. Left behind a few splotches of lacing.
S - There really wasn't much here other than the typical roasted malt associated with porters and a few hints of cherry.
T - Roasted malt upfront. The body had a nice balance a litttle bit of cherry flavor. Red chile flavors come through as the beer passes over the back of the tongue and really kick in in the finish to leave a spicy burning sensation on the back of the tongue.
M - Medium bodied with adequate carbonation. I little lighter bodied than I prefer my porters, but it worked pretty well wit the chile flavor.
Certainly a unique beer - I've never heard of a red chile porter before! In the end it was more of a middle-of-the-road brew with some red chile flavor thrown in. Although the finish was a it spicy for my tastes, I appreciate the effort and might consider having it now and again as a novelty beer as long as the Springs stays in business (I hear they are trying to sell).

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
