Amber color, medium-sized, off-white head. Malt and caramel in aroma. Sweet taste with notes of caramel and bread. Too gentle and sweet, but drinkable.

Poured from the bottle into a nonic pint glass.
Quite solid looking brew. Deep copper body color, with a nice reddish brown tone. Khaki very fine head meeting a solid three fingers with soft retention and a light fluffy appearance.
Interesting nose for a Scottish ale. Light touches of caramel and toffee, but a noticeable almost raspberry like candy note hanging out as well. Hints that sort of Baltic porter like aroma as well in the mix which seems odd and misplaced.
Palate is particularly sweet. Berry flavored and a palate that washed prominently in a fruit punch like flavor. Touches raspberry strawberry fruit, with a hint of a little bit of clove spice working in as well. Really tastes like fruit punch and cloves, mixing a bit of sharp tang of fruit in the aftertaste as well.
This is an interesting tasting brew, but it reminds me nothing of a Scottish Ale whatsoever. Drinkable at least.

Nice copper color, slightly hazy, thin white head with crap retention but nice lace
Lots of cooked sugar type malt aromas: caramel, toffee, baked sweets. What you think of when you think of a Scottish-style ale
Flavor follows the nose. Clean, though, not overly sweet.
Heavier body, but not cloying. Low carbonation.
Outside of the appearance, pretty much to style. Not something I'd drink everyday, but would probably be really nice in cooler weather

Poured from a brown 16.9 oz. bottle. Has an auburn color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is sweet, caramel malts. Taste is nothing like the aroma. Apples, malts, no sweetness, hints of vinegar at the finish. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a pretty good beer.

A lovely, clear garnet beer with an initially ample head that quickly fizzes out into absolutely nothing. Smells of kettle corn and basically nothing else except a vague tingle of leafy, herbal, medicinal hops, calling to mind a watered-down root beer or cola.
The dominant/only flavor is of caramel-sweet malts, like light brown sugar. There is just barely enough hop zest and attenuation to keep this from being disgustingly sweet, but only in the same way that phosphoric acid, spice, and fizz keeps Coca-Cola from being disgustingly sweet. It isn't bad but it certainly isn't good – however, if it was really REALLY ice cold it could actually drink like a half-decent amber lager. But then that's not what one hopes for in a Scottish ale, is it?

Poured into a MacAndrew's thistle glass. Pours a hazy red orange with a half finger off-white head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma of caramel and bready malt, apple and pear, light stone fruit and toffee. Flavor starts with caramel malt, apple skins, brown bread; drops off quickly in the finish with residual mild hops and a tiny hint of smoke. Light to medium bodied. Good caramel and bready malt flavors and the fruit balances well, but all a bit attenuated. The finish is abrupt and uninteresting, with hints of Scottish ale components that might have redeemed this if they had been more robust. A meh Scottish ale. No flaws except tasting a bit watered down. Nice looking bottle.

Bottle from Tres Bonne Cuisine. Pours out true to color for the style, head is a bit weak. Caramel and peat on the nose. Taste is sweet, slightly earthy, but mostly sugary. Very abrupt finish

Orangy color, sweetness from the malts comes through.
Well balanced with grass-like hop flavors offsetting the slightly sour yeast.
A very decent effort!
