Truncated review from a can acquired at a Vilnius supermarket:
APPEARANCE: Dark and cola-like. No head.
AROMA: Cola, sassafras-esque herbs, dark bread, coca bean.
Pleasant for a kvass. Mild in strength.
TASTE: Dark bread, cola nut/coca bean, sassafras, and a kiss of sourdough.
There's not much going on here, and some might find it medicinal. I guess the balance is decent.
Average intensity, depth, duration, and amplitude of flavour.
It doesn't have the raw, young wort-ish feel of many kvass I've had.
TEXTURE: Smooth, wet, a biteen syrupy/extract-y, fairly thick, and overcarbonated.
This texture suits the taste decently, I guess, but does nothing to coax the nuances out of it.
OVERALL: A middle-of-the-road supermarket kvass with nothing to offer the discerning drinker. This one can safely be missed. Meh. Drinkable, sure.
