On-tap 4/18/2015 at Doherty’s Ale House, in Warwick, RI served in a tapered pint glass.
A: The beer is a deep gold color, with a large white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains Belgian yeast, spice, caramelized malts, some citrus and some hops.
T: The taste starts out bready with flavors of Belgian yeast and a hearty malt character. Then some sweet flavors of caramel, spice and citrus come in. The hops presence is decent for the style and brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly bready and slightly hoppy.
M: Crisp and a little smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is dry and slightly sticky.
O: Tasty, goes down ok, not too filling, mild kick, good representation of style, this is a decent beer but there are others in the style that I would choose first.

Tangy. More pale ale than Belgian pale, but still not APA. Easy drinking; good for LT, but there's better in this category.

12oz brown bottle with a freshness date, sample from the brewery.
Good clarity so long as you leave the dregs in the bottle, bright pale golden hue with a thin white lacing. Mild perfume-like hoppiness, rind and zest with a touch of bitterness. Kiss of bubblegum or taffy-like phenols. Belgian Pale Ale? Sure. Seems a bit out of whack but still a bit drinkable. Expected a little more of a Belgian flare.
