Pours amber with a 1/2 inch white head. Moderate lacing.

Aroma is pine, grapefruit, floral.

Taste is strong pine, earthy, grapefruit, papaya, resin.

Medium bodied, light carbonation. Semi-sweet finish.

Wow! This is one of the best DIPA's I've had. Outstanding!

Can from a Lazy Dog
Lightly hazy orange gold in color with a decent sized off white head that persists. Bready light butterscotch with pine citrus and earth. A little on the sweet side but not too shabby.

16oz can dated 12/10/19.

Pours clear gold with a chill haze. Minimal head, retention, or lacing. Subdued hops in the nose for the style. Light notes of cantaloupe, grapefruit, and melons. Medium bodied with a crisp, thinnish mouthfeel. Pithy grapefruit with bitter citrus pulp on the palate. Finishes dry, bitter, and a bit grainy with zero malt.

Scored a 16oz can today at The Beer Store (Nashua) for $3.75. Diving in now while watching some college football on the last Saturday of the year... I guess the ABV varies by batch; photo shows 8.6%, listing says 8.3% and my can says 8.0%... And my can has no mention of IBUs.

Poured most into my trusty Smutty snifter... It's a bright golden-orange color with healthy haze. Hard to tell what the carbo looks like, but the head is white, thin, creamy and fine, leaving decent lacing. Aroma hits me up right off with big citrussy notes. Pineapple, mango and resiny notes come forth. Body is medium to medium-plus, and the prickle factor isn't too high, making it fairly smooth going down.

Flavor has a bit of light caramel and crackery malts before getting Lupy... Again, more mango, pineapple, a bit of grapefruit, and some piney, pithy action come into play. It doesn't really get too bitter, as the hoppiness is of the semi-sweet, fruity variety, combined with the caramel malt backbone. Finish is rather dry, with earthy hops rounding things out. A solid DIPA... Prosit!

16oz can: This one pours a slightly hazy dark golden color. Small off white head with a little lacing. Nice nose. Some citrus, pine, touch of resin, caramel malts. Maybe some fain fruits and floral notes. the taste is good. Earthy hops, pine, resin, caramel malts are predominate flavors. A bit of bitterness. This is nicely balanced and a fine brew.

Fruit and floral flavors disappear as malt takes over. Not a refreshing drinker, but solid flavors you savor all the way through the pint. Not sure what makes it Imperial. It’s a malt heavy DIPA

This is truly the best IPA I have ever had from Long Trail. I will admit to being a small time hater of LT brews, but the obvious use of juicy yeast makes this beer pop. Tastes like Cascade and Simcoe... well done. Well worth a purchase if brewed within the month. I hope to see similar offerings from LT who has classically under performed in my opinion.

Can dated 10/09/2017 but given the style and ABV, I thought this would be okay, here's the rest based on my observations.
Poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a semi-glossy burnt dark yellow to semi-bright rusty color with a thin cap of a little white foamy head that slid off at a moderate pace. Silky clingy foamy lace ran around the glass fairly nice.
The aroma had some pineapple sweetness, white bread, citrus, mango, resin, and a touch of grassiness on the back end.
The flavor was crisp with a stifled bitterness starting to come out more as it warmed and giving off a brisk sort of odd New England juiciness to it. Some weird "West Coast"-like sticky sort of resin-esque aftertaste with the white bread/maltiness.
The mouthfeel was almost medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Carbonation was fairly low with a little bit of a dry bitter bite. ABV seemed on par. Finish was semi-sticky with a huge drying resinous character.
Overall, I know they tried doing this with "lupulin powder" but well, I guess this didn't hold up until now. I would have thought given the ABV, but well, I'd give this another chance fresher; therefore I'll be "kind" in my numbers on this.

Pours a blonde/gold hue with a thin head into my glass. Made with lupulin power, which appears to be a fairly recent trend. Light citrus note upfront with not much else to capture the imagination. Clean. Mango upfront with a strong alcohol bite at the back, much like a West Coast DIPA. I would certainly purchase this again. It's a very clean DIPA.

Side note: I think the lupulin powder allows the hop characteristics to shine without degradation or other factors related to hop quality.

A tap pour from the Brewery. Quick stop at the end of a long byway ride through VT on Rte. 100 and Rt.4.

A semi-cloudy golden amber color. A hefty white top starts out, mild dissipation keeps a thin cover.

A very well rounded hoppy nose, brisk citrus, earthy dryness and piney fruits all are very intense. A classic, light amber malt adds a bit of malty sweetness.

The flavor is surprisingly balanced for a DIPA. The malty flavor goes a long way and adds some serious low-end balance. The hops certainly stand out, big citrus, earth tones and tart fruits flow into some very dry-earthy back of palate teamwork.

Wonderfully easy to drink for such a big IPa. I would suggest taking your time with this obe and enjoy the relaxed vibe of this brewery.
