Taste like chocolate and coffee and not as much like butternut. Still a delicious beer.

From the 16 oz. can dated 101619. Sampled on Nov 8, 2019.
It pours an amber-red color with a quick lasting cream colored head and moderate clarity.
The aroma is not what I expected. I get an abundance of sweet roasted caramel malts, molasses floral hops but only a subtle distant yam or squash character. Also a burnt sensation. If it wasn't labeled as it was I would have thought I was inhaling a brown ale.
Medium body.
Sweet roasted malt taste with little to no butternut but a mildly clean finish. This would make an excellent brown ale. Style-wise, it seems little off. But I did like it.
