Little Anomaly is our addition to the low-calorie IPA genre. Legend has it that we noticed one thing while sipping and sampling the growing field of low-cal IPAs: big hop flavor is an anomaly.
Fast-forward to development and our crew nailed down the elusive attributes of the IPAs we enjoy so much. Hazy, juicy and full of big, bold flavors from Mandarina Bavaria, Simcoe, Columbus and Centennial hops. All wrapped up in 110 calories of crushable content.

Poured from 12 oz can purchased from a mix pack; no known birth date. Pours light & effervescent yellow with plenty of visible carbonation. Great initial foamy head that rapidly recedes. For what it is - low abv & cal - decent hop bitterness taste with accompanying thinness. Okay.

Two-finger initial head that settles quickly to a film of bubbles on the surface. Inconsistent spots remain on the glass. The liquid is pale gold with a white hue from the faint haze.
The dominant smell is similar to hop pellets--mostly floral but with a touch of white pepper. The malt is soft and barely kilned.
The taste is "green" to me, meaning it's reminiscent of unripe fruit. There's no sweetness and it's a bit biting. This doesn't come from a strong bitterness from the hop. The body leans thinner with neutral to elevated carbonation level. Bitter finish but with a shorter aftertaste.

Smells like Mountain Dew. The taste follows (as they say) with some generic graininess. There's a reason it's so low calorie. If you like super light IPAs you might like this, but I'll take a basic macro lager over this.

Poured from 12oz can to Teku glass. Looks hazy, light gold. White cap on top. A bit of lacing left behind. Smell is citrus, grapefruit especially. Some peach there too. Taste starts with mango, citrus flavors. Middle tastes similar but a bit watered down. Finish is clean with a hint of pine and grapefruit left behind. Feel is medium bodied, fairly low carbonation. Overall, not a bad session IPA. Easy to drink without getting overwhelmed by the flavors or the alcohol.

Traded one of my Long Trail Ale's with my nephew for this Long Trail IPA.
LOOK: Pours a hazy pale straw yellow with a pure white head which slowly faded to a thin skin while leaving some decent side glass lace.
AROMA: Sharp acerbic sour aroma. Grapefruit and pine nuts are most prominent. Also a hint of peach.
TASTE: Citrus and mildly sour. A bit of puckering and drying.
OVERALL: The fact that his is a LIGHT IPA and also a low ABV, IMO makes it unique and a bit of a niche beer. Interesting, but not a bell ringer for me.

Enjoyed this at an after cycling farewell party this Sunday am. Just the tickets for low ABV but flavorful zest.
a) To form, no evidence this is a 3.6% ABV beer.
s) lemony, piney IPA, mild but fair and inviting citrus.
t) Adds a bit of smoke and malt.
f) Plenty of body while being light.
o) When you want a < 4% Bright IPA, this is the one.

Can from Hannaford in the mixed 12 pack.
Lightly hazy light gold in color with a decent bubbly white head that slowly recedes. Citrus and tropical fruit hints of smoke and a light bready malt to counter. Surprising body for such a small beer. Pretty nice for the style.
