INGREDIENTS: Water, Malted barley, Oats, Wheat, Hops, Yeast
STYLE: American IPA
GLASSWARE: GLB Crown Viking
TASTING NOTES
Buckle up, because we jam-packed Karmageddon with a cornucopia of a colossal growing season’s hop harvest. Karmageddon pours a burnt orange and wastes no time emitting aromas of sweet, ripe tropical citrus and melon. It packs a full-flavoured mango punch with a warming sweetness, and finishes full, sharp but smooth.
FOOD PAIRINGS Bacon loaf, Korean BBQ, and cheese fondue.
ADDITIONAL You know what brings good Karma? All the hops.

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. My 26th beer from the Etobicoke, Ontario brewery, and 9th for 2026. Lusciously admired by Sundae the cat, with love...

Look: Pours a bright orange and gold with a substantial 3 fingers of pillowy white head. The head pulls back very slowly. After 5 minutes there is a still a solid finger of foam with pretty lacing on the glass.
Smell: More muted then expected. Tropical notes of tangerines, and peach.
Taste: Hops forward with a malty sandy quality mid sip. Tropical notes of tangerines and cantaloupe. Finished with a slight bitterness, and fresh green hops quality.
Feel: Medium bodied and mid carbonation. The beer fills the mouth well, registering strongest on the palate. I didn't find it boozy at all given the 10 percent ABV.
Great Lakes can always be counted upon to make interesting and typically outstanding IPA's. This isn't my favourite offering from them by a long shot. It is very fresh and green. Its a solid B beer, with an outstanding look and head retention.

Pours brass colored with a bit of haze. A giant, chunky head lasts forever, draping the glass in lace. The aroma is of citrusy, grapefruit hops and cookie dough malts in the back. Citrus and pine hops in abundance in the first sip. Caramel malts provide balance and the high ABV is noticeable. High carbonation and full body in the mouthfeel. Medium bitterness, pine sap and lemon in the long finish.
A nice DIPA with a prominent malt profile. Worth a try.

473ml can served cool into a tulip. LCBO purchase for around $4.25 CDN.
Appearance - Clear, dark golden brew with multiple fingers of voluminous head. Lots of bubbles in the beer too. Excellent staying power.
Smell - Lots of tropical citrus notes with grapefruit being most prominent.
Taste - Medium bitterness, grapefruit and orange with some sort of fleshy melon coming through as well, perhaps cantaloupe. Kind of boozy. Some resiny aspect going on in the background too.
Mouthfeel - Medium-full bodied, expressive carbonation.
Overall - Solid DIPA, but given the GLB lineup, this feels slightly underwhelming. Don't get me wrong, it is a very solid DIPA, but doesn't really blow me away like many of their other IPA's do.

I bought a can at the LCBO in Ontario Canada 473ml at 8.1%.
Poured into glass with a 2 to 3 finger head leaving a lace as you drink it.
Lot's of bursting tropical fruit flavor.
Medium bitterness level slow carbonation.
Nice tropical flavor very enjoyable to drink.
Overall a very good double IPA beer.
Cheers

473 mL can from the LCBO, one of three 'new' IPAs in GLB's Good Karma four-pack. Dated Apr 18 2023 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a mostly clear golden-yellow colour, with two fingers of fluffy, foamy white head situated atop. It falls back within three or four minutes, leaving behind a soapy, sudsy collar and cap, as well as an attractive swath of delicate, spidery lacing. The nose is comprised of fruity hints of orange, grapefruit, papaya and kiwi, backed by robust floral, earthy, herbal/weedy hop notes.
The flavours are similar with grapefruit leading the way; hints of mango, tangerine and bergamot tea aren't far behind. Spicy & peppery on the back end, with grapefruit pith and passion fruit preceding an earthy, piney, dank/weedy finish that boasts a substantial hit of resiny bitterness. Fairly warming for 8%, with resin, pine and licorice fading into the aftertaste. Full-bodied, with moderate carbonation levels that gently brush against the palate; feels smooth and a little slick on the tongue. A good night capper, because one can is plenty.
Final Grade: 4.08, an A-. Distinct from GLB's other Karma-centric IPAs with its brash, practically abrasive nature - Karmageddon is big, bitter, and also pretty boozy given its average (by DIPA standards) abv. While part of me appreciates its piney/resiny/weedy West Coast characteristics, another part of me would rather be drinking their Karma Citra, or Robohop for that matter. I'd definitely buy this again, but in this brewery's lineup of numerous outstanding IPAs, Karmageddon is hardly a standout.
