Tangerine-tinged rose pink with lumpy champagne head that sheets.
Musty port barrel nose lightened by flowers and maybe wild yeast.
Light plum and spun sugar with a slightly floral end. Banyuls tang, too.
Woody barrel finish and sweet linger. Fizzy, medium, cloying.
Made with Banyuls, fortified 17% sweet wine.
What is this supposed to be? Banyuls is there (4%, says the label) but with no sense of the base beer it comes off like a sparkling pink wine. Also too sweet and strong for the weak flavor notes. Almost an alcopop. Dire.
