A visit to Lucan is a visit to Brauhaus. Tried as a sampled and later order a pint. Poured a red orang hue with a clear color if not just barely hazy. The head retention was very good as was the lacing. Both remained till the end of my tasting.
The smell was very feint. Some sweeter malt mixed with more of a spice aroma, but you really have to look for it.
The taste was very hoppy for a Marzen. The malt is good for an Oktoberfest as the sweeter Munich and Vienna tastes are mixed well with more bready or cakey spice flavors. What makes the taste unique is the bigger aroma hop taste as the end. Some American style that rather heighten the sweeter taste.
The body is full with a lager feel to it. The hop flavor just really confuses you on the beer but it is very good. I think for style its a little off but for flavor and drinkability its a very good beer.
