Here is CANother beer CANtesy of my local, in-person trader @tone77 who knows how to shop for beer! Man, my next unfulfilled dream is to attend U of W (Madison) to garner a Po.D. (Doctor of Pornography), but until things align for me to go, I love WisCANsin. Beer, cheese, fish fry, hockey & the women. Oh, the women! Zaftig redheads with many similar interests to mine. I am going to miss the GTMW again this year, but not for lack of trying. My recent surgery really took the starch outta me & when I returned from last weekend's NYC/LIC excursion, I slept for 12+ hours! I CANnot fully envision the toll that a trip to WisCANsin would take on me. My other, sodden, thought before I begin the review is that I hope that it is NOTHING like Minhas' Sconnie ( https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/435/83732/ ) which is now Retired but still lives in infamy! Ugh.
From the CAN: "Gotta Getta Dane"; "Real. Wisconsin. Beer."; "This Red Ale, brewed with only Wisconsin grown Hops, is Great Dane's celebration of our state's hop growing renaissance."; "Est. 1994".
I once aCAiN set up the mise en scène, but once everything was in place, it was time for a Crack! of the vent. I beCAN with a slow, gentle C-Line Glug but spurred on by Hotspur, I let it free-flow to form two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, tawny head with very good retention. Color was Deep-Amber/Light-Copper to Copper (SRM = > 13, < 17) & it seemed that I was just going to be haunted by the memory of Linda Lou with her wiry, coppery hair for the rest of the day! 8=O Nose was piney, citrusy, slightly caramel-malty, but not an AIPA. Change request forthCANming. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was more towards semi-sweet with a definite caramel malt backbone, but it didn't hurt to have the presence of citrus & pine hops. In fact, this last gave it an earthiness that put me in mind of English/Irish-bittered beers. I like earthiness since it tasted like something fresh off the bine, wet-hopped, perhaps? Dunno. I do know that it tasted good! The CAN did not have an IBU measurement, but the fact that I was no longer jonesing led me to believe that it was a solid number. Finish was dry, but earthy, rather than outright bitter. I was digging this as the wrap-up to my prelude to the remainder of the day. YMMV.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a hazy orange color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of caramel malts, some pine. Taste is malt forward, caramel, piney hops are present, smooth and refreshing. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall, not as hoppy as most beers in this style, but a tasty beer nonetheless.

Pours a nice reddish coppery color with ivory colored head. Citrus, caramel malt, pine, floral notes, and some light bread on the nose; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied. Finishes with pine, spice, and a nice malt backbone.

12oz can. Poured out a clear, orange color with a small, tan head of bubbly foam. It smelled of spicy/piney hops with some caramel and maltiness. Nice sweet caramel and burnt toast maltiness with mild bite of bitter hops.

12 oz. can:
Pours reddish amber with a lasting foamy head. Foamy lacing sticks.
The smell is of toasted caramel with citric and herbal spicing.
The taste is of lightly toasted caramel/toffee. Bitter citric/piney touch in the balance.
It has a sharp, lighter end of medium body.
A nice American hop-forward red. Listed as an IPA here. On the border of the styles. A nice hop-forward brew with a "red ale" malt character.

This Red Ale at 5.9% ABV pours a medium dark copper color. To me the aroma is almost non-existent which is it's main downside. The taste is pretty decent w some hopiness to it. Average mouth-feel. This beer is nothing special, but it would be a decent one for everyday occasions.
