Imperial pint at the brewpub, downtown location
appearance: well, you certainly would not be able to look at this beer and say it was a blueberry beer. The appearance is rather odd with a uber-murky body and a colour resembling dirty dish water...a dull golden orange with a frothy white head and slight lace. I dont find this to be attractive at all
smell: ahhh, theres the blueberry. pleasant wheat structure with fresh tart blueberry added. a littly doughy
taste: its a crisp and somewhat refreshing play on their established wheat beer...blueberry flavouring doesnt particularly dominate this beer, but it likely wasnt the intention. I guess I was looking for a fruit bomb and didnt really find it. Its not a bad beer by any means though
mouthfeel: active on the tongue, crisp, medium body
drinkability: for some reason I struggled to finish this, which may not have been the beer's fault. no need for me to order this again

On-tap at the Downtown Dane post-Farmer's Market and pre-Taste of Madison.
Pour: opaque golden yellow, perhaps a little cloudier than their Crop Circle Wheat. Shortish white head has good retention.
Nose: tart, fresh blueberries, pancake malts, lactic sour wheat funk in the finish
Taste: sweet/tart start with fresh blueberry, malt adds a pancake/muffin feel in the middle, finish is yogurty/lactic sour as the wheat takes over.
Feel: rich and substantial, but not chewy, crisp carbonation.
Drinkability/Overall: another solid fruit knock-off of their Crop Circle Wheat. Subtle, fresh-tasting blueberry flavor over a solid, time-tested weizen body. Gets a little sour in the finish for extended drinking, but nice and refreshing on one of the more pleasant days of the year sitting in the outdoor patio at the Dane.
