In our quest to transfer the lovely spicy feel of a good Gin to a new beer, we came across some old Geneva barrels from Belgium.
We brew our base beer well spiced with juniper, angelica and coriander, and put part of the brew in the old oak barrels.
In connection with the bottling, we mix the barrel-aged and tank-aged beer with the award-winning Nordic Gin.
Gin N' Beer is a fresh spicy beer, with a dry crispy mouthfeel, and a medium bitterness. It is a beer that is very suitable for spicy dishes.

Copenhagen 7/3 2019. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Østerfælled Torv, Kbh Ø. Same design as other Oak aged beers from Thisted. This one is aged on Genever Barrels (and not modern gin).
Pours slightly unclear yellow with big white head. Settles as 1,5 cm thick layer of dense foam.
Aroma is tart, lightly sour with an underlying sweet fruitiness. Juniper, citrus and hints of lemonade. some spicy hints of black pepper.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily and fairly flat texture.
Flavor is sweetish followed by a strong tart bitterness. Aftertaste is little rough and bitter with lighter artificial sweetness rummaging in the background. Spicy, sweet finish.
I do not get a very oaky vibe when drinking this. But I get a Saison with a solid infusion of juniper.
