Copenhagen 11/8 2016. 50 cl bottle from Fakta, Frederiksborgvej, Kbh. NV. Part of a series of "New Nordic" inspired beers. You have to fight your way through Buckthorn, Ginger and Juniper before you get to Amber. Chunk of amber on the label.
Pours clear amber with a yellowish head. Settles as a thin layer of foam. No lacing to speak of.
Aroma is spicy and sour. Hints of resin and myrica. Aroma reminds me a bit of pickled olives.
Light carbonation and slightly thick palate. Lightly tinging texture.
Flavor is medium sweet followed by a more distinct herbal sourness. Aftertaste is sour.
I get the same feeling as I would have if somebody forced me to drink a ginger juice: This is supposed to taste unpleasant so you can be sure it is healthy.
