Had on tap at the restaurant.

Appearance- A pleasant hazy, golden yellow. As other reviewers say, very little head, but oddly enough, it sticks around for a while.

Smell- Crisp and refreshing but not strong or complex. Lemon, wheat, yeast.

Taste- Smell is consistent with this. Fairly strong carbonation. A nice linger of banana esters at the end, but not as strong on that front as my preference. (My favorite in this style is Paulaner.) If you've had UFO Hefe, Brown's tastes similar to me.

Drinkability- Very refreshing and goes down easy. A nice summer beer, but not the most strong and intricate hefe ever, as is my preference. It has those sharp lemon and wheat bites but is light, pleasant, and gets the job done.

Had on tap the restaurant

Appearance: gold in color, no head, hazy

Smell: banana, wheat, and clove

Taste: bananas, clove, lemon, and wheat

Mouthfeel: light bodied, moderate carbonation, slightly sweet

Drinkability: A nice and smooth representation of the style. Nothing too over the top, but still a beer I want to come back to. A solid offering.

I had this from a bottle from my last trup to Brown's. Excellent coloring for a hefeweizen - gold color with a thick white head that sticks to the sides of the glass. The aroma was a nice malty flavor with hints of banana flavoring. The taste is almost the same - very sweet malt overtones with some banana undertones from the yeast. The aftertaste is of malty banana, but it is nice and refreshing. A good hefeweizen and I would recommend this to anyone at Brown's. Pretty drinkable as well.

The beer pours a hazy pale gold color with a thick frothy white head that fades to lacing. The aroma is good. It has a light wheat and pale malt scent along with a fruity yeast aroma. It is has the banana/clove scent that is quite refreshing. The taste is average. It has a very light malt flavor with a dry, yet slightly fruity finish. It seems a bit watered down and lacking true hefe taste. The mouthfeel is average as well. It is a low bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This beer lacks body. It's thin and quite dry. This isn't a bad beer, but it's not true to style. That said. I could still drink a few of these.

22oz bottle purchased for ~$4 at the brewery. Poured into a weissbier glass.

Appearance - Golden orange with areas of yellow. Hazy, but not cloudy. Nice head that recedes to a thin sudsy cap. Leaves some lacing. Not the most vibrant looking wheat beer, but decent.

Smell - Banana taffy, bread, and a subtle touch of clove. Leans more towards the banana flavor.

Taste - Banana up front that mixes nicely with mellow spice. The wheat backbone comes to the forefront and balances out the sweetness midway through. Finish is short and sweet. No bitterness present. Everything happens real quick. Simple and refreshing.

Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with a slick mouthfeel. Possibly a bit heavy for my tastes, but not bad.

Drinkability - This goes down nice and smooth. Decently refreshing and definitely easy drinking. Leans towards the sweet side of things, so if that is how you like your wheat beer, give it a try. A good quaffable summer seasonal.

I had this brew on tap last evening and it was poured to a hazy golden color that really gave it a nice pale/dull look. Unfortunately it did not have much if any head so retention and lacing where nil which gives this brew a low mark for appearance. The aroma was nice, with a strong banana scent, lemon, grassy and a strong wheat smell. The taste was also better than par with the mixture of sweet and yeast flavors. Also noticeable where the banana, lemon and a slight spice flavors. Over all this is a pretty good brew, very easy drinking, a nice summer brew. May get a 5 gal keg for Memorial Day, drink local!

Had on tap at Brown's in Troy, NY

A- Pale Golden straw color. A touch of head that disappears quickly. Little bits of lacing drip around the glass.

S- Smells of fresh baked banana nut bread! Love it! Spicy clove, cinnamon and pepper. A wonderful fresh bready yeasty smell.

T- Really tasty! Taste is exactally the same as the smell. Really bready, yeasty, and full of banana nut bread flavor.

M- Fresh, crisp and light. Perfect brew for laying around on a sunny day.

O- A damn fine brew from one of my locals. Everything you want in a Hefe-Weizen and then some. Crisp, clean, banana/clove perfection! Like Banana nut bread in a glass!

Was lucky enough to try this at the TAP beer festival in Hunter Mountain this Spring.

A - Cloudy straw color with a decent 1 inch head the settled 1/2 way through the tasting.

S - Lots of wheat and a faint banana aroma, and maybe a bit of grassy, hay like smell also.

T - Strong wheat and banana flavor up front with even stronger wheat on the finish. This beer has an earthy quality that I really liked.

M&D - Crisp and clean and light and delicious. You could drink this beer all day! Nothing crazy or complex about this one, just a really solid, good wheat beer.

I can't wait till they start bottling this stuff. I hope it doesn't lose it's quality...if you have the opportunity, this one is definitely worth trying.

This was definately one of the better beers that we sampled at Brown's. This was a very authentic looking Hefe. A cloudy lemon colour that is certainly yeast infused. The head is big, rocky, and of pure white foam. The carbonation is lush. The normal hefe aromas are there. Banana esters, hints of lemon, and a big wheaty/yeastiness that is refreshing to the nostrils. The taste is sweet, lemony and yeasty up front, and spicy in the middle. The fruit esters and clove-like spicy phenols battle it out in the refreshing, spritzy, and slightly dry finish. Mouthfeel is creamy/yeasty goodness, and drinkability is spot-on. A good rendition from this nice brewpub.

Had this on tap with dinner tonight. Which was good.

A: Cloudy straw color. Zero head. I think I might have gotten the ass end of the keg.

S: Huge wheat smell. The banana and clove smell was faint.

T: To me this was really bland. Again I think I got the end of the keg. Typical heff taste with a slight emphasis on the wheat.

M: Super thin with no carbonation.

D: You could drink this all day during the summer with minimal side effects.
