12 ounce poured into a pint.

A - Pours reddish brown with a frothy sand colored head. SLight lacing.

S - Follows taste, roasted with coffee hints.

T - Roasted with coffee hints. Bitter. It's got some artificial sweet flavor aftertaste.

M - Thin. Nicely carbonated.

D - Not really. Wipe out that aftertaste and it would be a different story.

I guess growler fits this type of serving best, but it was a Party-Pig. Its a sweet invention that keeps the beer fresh and pours like its on tap, really cool.

Appearance: Huge creamy head, dark tan in color, great retention and loads of lacing. Black with blood red highlights in good lighting.

Smell: Tons of great smelling roasted malts and hints of coffee and chocolate.

Taste: Hops up front followed by the malty sweetness and sublte coffee and chocolate flavors.

Mouthfeel: Very creamy, not quite a full body but close.

Drinkability: The not so full body helps keeps this beer one that you can have a few of.

Overall this is probably my favorite I have had from Queen City so far. I love the fact I can get this in a party pig and keep it tasting perfect for weeks in the fridge. Very excellent stout.

12 oz. with no freshness date, served at cellar temperature in a chalice. It pours a thin black that is ruby when held to the light, and it's topped with an inch of brown head that leaves some lacing. The aroma is kinda bland and artificial, with some roasted and coffee flavors. The flavor is the same with an artificial sweetness and hints of cardboard on top of a medium body that is dry and leaves a medium finish.

After revisiting, I found the new batch to be much more roasted and flavorful with a bigger dose of bittering hops. However, it still has that same artificial fruitiness I find in every QC brew - perhaps they need to re-evaluate the yeast choice for their beers.
