I tried this beer at the Vermont Brewer's Festival. It is Sour Ale aged in cabernet barrels.
The brew poured an interesting cloudy light ruby color. There was a fizzy head about a finger high with decent retention and good lacing.
The aroma and flavor were consistent with one another. Hints of citrus and cherry dominated. Several minor flavor were present - wine, oak and vanilla. Frankly, it tasted like a spoiled cheap bottle of cabernet. Not necessarily a good quality in a beer.
The mouthfeel was very effervescent - consistent with the beer's sourness.
Not a very drinkable beer. The acidity stayed with me for a few hours as well.
Certainly an interesting concoction.

On draft in the VIP lounge of the VT Brewers Fest...
This one was aged in barrels of Cabernet with pomegranates.
Appears a reddish brown with a small white cap. Tiny spots of lacing.
Smell is of tart fruit with a Belgian-esque aroma and very pungent brett.
Taste is tart and sour but very drinkable for the style. Well balanced with pomegranates and a slight oaky wininess.
Mouthfeel is of well rounded tartness that lasts with a pleasant pucker.
Drinkability was nice for this style. No overkill of flavors.
I mentioned to fellow BA's, Davo & Slander, that this reminded me a bit of the New Glarus Sour Brown only better.

Lovely, just lovely. My most anticipated and first sample of this years EBF. Dark red with a nice pinkish-off-white head of foam. The aromas were absolutely amazing. Brett! Fresh red cherries or other sour, tart, citrus fruits balanced with other completely different sweet fruity hints, as well as a superb yeast funkiness, and a lovely drying finish that was nieter sweet or sour. So intriguingly good, and from a freakin' US brewery! Mouthfeel was medium bodied and just right, and the drinkaiblity was very good as well. I need more of this now! I need 64oz samples next time!

The planets must have aligned to bring me to NY to try this beer, and I'm so very glad they did.
Dulled brown-red in color with a strong, arid aroma of Flemish funk -- and these hints of sourness and wild fungus somewhat belies its true nature. Big, intense fruit flavors dominate up front. The wine barrels used for aging lend a strong berry and alcohol sweetness (almost bourbon-like, it's so strong) to the flavor, completely washing away any hint of funk. Two sips later, there's a bit more emerging. Then a bit more. Finally, after sipping on a sweeter beer for a moment, the brettanomyces emerges like a bat out of hell. The fruits up front give an unripened cherry tartness, and the brett is really strong through the finish.
A little sweet. A little sour. A little funky. A lot good.
