A: Nice orange color but with a small white head, carbonation is medium and the dissipation is a little fast, and no permanent layer remains on top of the beer.

S: Not very intense aroma, based on barley malts with almost no hops

T: Good flavor start slow but then you received some intensity with some barley malts and some hop flavor at the end.

M: It is nice and refreshing at the beginning but then turns to be complicated and more bitter than expected not a bittersweetness but just bitterness at the end.

Not the best Marzen tested but still a good brewer that produces a good beer.

A deep gold in colour , completely clear and traslucent. White head which lasts a little. Carbonation is constant. No waste left on the glass

S some honey, baked biscuit , caramel malt. looks like a little bit old

T a little malt sweetness at the beginning. Medium body. Semi dry finish there is some bitterness

This interpretation of Märzen is surely on par. Nice amounts of light tan head, which lasts almost all the way through a half liter pour. The body is ultra clear, but dark golden amber in color.

Aromas are dominated by malt. Mostly caramel and toffee characteristics, but perfumy fragrances come through as the brew warms up a little.

The taste is close to the aromas of caramel and toffee, no hidden surprises.

Not a bad Oktober time-frame brew. I'll have to make a little room in my fridge for this one.

Found in a fancy Moscow supermarket in the fanciest of Moscow districts. German standard brown half liter bottle with a gold and silver label featuring a big elk's head on the front. Purity law, of course. Best before 9/8/05, I opened it on 12/13/04.

Pours a clear slightly dark gold under a 1+ finger white head that lingers a bit but is too runny to leave any lace. The nose is mild barley malt - quite pleasant. The mouth is well carbonated and fairly light, not sticky at all. The taste is full of lots of barley in the opening, almost like eating bread. There's some sweetness, perhaps a touch of caramel. There's a mild but noticeable hoppy backlash in the finish, just enough to add a touch of dryness at the back of the throat, and to generate the urge for another swig. Malt returns in the aftertaste, matched pretty evenly with the hops. Good effort.
