I picked up a bottle of Short's Bucktricutioner for $1.89 at The Lager Mill. I've had Bucktricity Kills and I liked it, so I'm interested to see how this one will turn out, so lets see how it goes. 2016 Vintage. Poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a teku.
A- The label looks good, it's got that typical crazy shorts label that's eye catching. It poured a slightly hazy pale golden color that took on more of a golden orange color when held to the light with a little over half a fingers worth of bubbly off white head that died down to a thin ring that eventually faded away and it didn't leave much lacing behind. This is a nice looking beer, but I wish it had better, head, lacing and retention.
S= The aroma starts off with a higher amount of sweetness with the fruits being the first to show up and its starts off with a big strawberry aroma that doesn't seem artificial and it's followed by the lime which is lighter, but it's still a little noticeable and it adds to the fruitiness of this beer. Up next comes the malts which impart a very grainy and white bread aroma with a little bit of sweet malts and doughy yeast showing up in the background and at the end comes a sour aroma. This beer has a pretty nice aroma, the fruits add some nice complexity to this beer.
T- The taste seems to be a little similar to the aroma and it starts off with a higher amount of sweetness with the fruits being the first to show up, but this time i don't get much strawberry and it has more of a like a raisin flavor to it with lime showing up just as much as it did in the aroma. Up next comes the malts which impart all the same aspects that they did in the aroma, but they are a little lighter this time and I get a little bit of a weird caramel like flavor at the end along with a lower amount of high sourness with a weird raisin, caramel,, fruity and malty aftertaste. This is a decent tasting beer, but I don't feel like the flavors work to well together and I wish it was more like the aroma.
M- Not the smoothest, slightly refreshing, pretty crisp, on the lighter side of being medium bodied with a higher amount of carbonation. The mouthfeel is nice and it works well with this beer.
Overall I thought this was decent beer and it was pretty close to being average for the style, I liked the aroma, but when I got to the taste it wasn't really what I was expecting and I was hoping the flavors would blend better together. This beer has doesn't have the best drinkability, one is enough for me, I don;t think i would want two in a row. What I like the most about this beer is the aroma, it's pretty nice and it's the highlight of this beer. What I like the least about this beer is the taste and the drinkability, those two aspects need some work. I don't think I would get this again, but If they make it next year I will try it again to see if i got an off bottle. I can't say I highly recommend this one. All in all this beer was just ok and i was a little disappointed with it. It's one of the my least favorite shorts beer and it's just about average for the style. better luck next time guys, this one could use some work.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 8/8/2016. Pours lightly hazy golden/orange/light pink color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin spotty lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big tart lemon, lime, green apple, juicy strawberry, wheat, cracker, light lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/acidic yeast, strawberry/limes, and light pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tart lemon, lime, green apple, juicy strawberry, wheat, cracker, light lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/acidic tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of tart lemon, lime, green apple, juicy strawberry, wheat, cracker, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast, strawberry/limes, and light pale malt flavors; with a great tart/sweetness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and light body; with a very smooth, crisp, dry, and lightly acidic/grainy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 3.25%. Overall this is an excellent Berliner weisse! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast, strawberry/limes, and light pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink. This one felt sweeter, more balanced, and less acidic than the base beer from the fruit additions. A very enjoyable offering.

12 ounce bottle, dated 08/08/16.
Bottle into goblet with pinkish orange hue and short-lived, white head that quickly reduces to a ring.
Aroma isn't huge, but I get primarily sweet strawberry and maybe a touch of lime.
Bucktricutioner immediately shocks the tongue with tart, puckering sourness that hint at lemon and lime. The strawberry sweetness pokes its nose in from time to time, varying by the sip.
Mouthfeel is light with a higher amount of carbonation. Perfectly suited for this beer.
Overall, I really enjoyed this one. The strawberry level is just right and perfectly complements what is already a very nice Berliner Weiss. At 3.25% ABV, Bucktricutioner is the perfect summer crusher.
