The Barrelman is a true to style English India Pale Ale with a light brown color from aging in toasted oak barrels for 6 months. Aromas of sweet tea and wood compliment flavors of honey and green grass from the traditional hops and malts used. A smokey bitterness in the finish dries and lingers on the palate, increasing in intensity.

Had as part of a flight at Short's. With barrel-aging still popular in the market I'm surprised this one isn't being bottled. Pour is a brown color with a ring of lace around the edges. Aroma and flavor is pretty complex. The woody, smoked oak barrel is definitely a part of the mix. But this beauty is malty, with notes of sweetened Earl Grey. Not so much as bitterness on the end as a dryness.
