Basic B is an experimental Pumpkin Latte Stout brewed with vanilla, pumpkin pie spices, espresso beans, milk sugar, and real pumpkin. Big fragrant aromas of nutmeg, allspice, and dark chocolate rise from this medium bodied black ale. Rich flavors of brown sugar and bitter coffee lead into a creamy palate coating sweetness with a complex spiciness throughout.

Coffee is very strong, mild pumpkin and spice. The milk sugar is a tad odd and throws off the balance though. Definitely more of a coffee beer than a pumpkin beer.

I love coffee. I love beer. and I love a certain mainstream "basic B" Said company latte.

This beer is just simply good..


Too sweet though.

Look is excellent. 1/2 finger head and a caramel/dark malty appearance.

Smell is pumpkin, spice and malt.

Taste is good not great. way too sweet and malty. The pumpkin takes a backseat here to sweet malt/caramel.

Overall a good experience just too sticky/sweet for my taste. Bravo to shorts though this is an oddity for a brew... like usual :)
