An American Double India Pale Ale with bold floral hop aromas of citrus peel and pine. A sizable malt sweetness allows for a balanced presentation of abundant hop flavors, most notably those of sharp grapefruit and fruity berries. The finish is mostly clean with a perfect resiny bitterness, that lingers, but doesn't overwhelm the palate.

12 fl. oz bottle
Served in a Michigan Wolverines pint glass
This beer pours amber in color with burnt orange highlights. It is hazy but not in a New England sort of way. It is topped with several inches of tan head that leaves some rocky lacing.
The smell is sweet with a good amount of malt aroma. I get some medicinal and citurs aroma, too.
The taste is more hop forward than the smell. The taste is slightly medicinal with citrus, mainly grapefruit. There is grapefruit and pine bitterness in the finish, but the bitterness isn't over the top like with a Pacific NW IPA.
Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel
This is an enjoyable, good all around Midwestern DIPA.

Short's brewing hit a home run on this beer. The color was a bit darker than a typical IPA, but that is the only area I can fault the beer. Nose is dank and taste is as well. Lacing is beautiful. Great IPA.

Appearance - Pours slightly cloudy golden color with big fluffy white head and sticky lacing all around the glass.
Aroma - Very mild tropical fruit mango and orange mostly with a grapefruit undertone. Slight malt aroma and floral hops.
Taste - Big hot of floral hops up front back with a great malt flavor. Nice citrus peel, grapefruit and overly ripe pineapple on the finish.
Feel - Medium bodied well carbonated with a slightly dry finish no sign of the alcohol.
Overall - Really well done imperial IPA great solid malt backbone with nice citrus.

This is a wonderful beer and a fantastic example of the DIPA style.
L: Pretty standard light hues with a golden, almost hazy look. My first was mostly clean, but the second (drank a month and a half later) had a ton of residue. Not sure if that was normal, but it didn't have any impact on the beer.
S: Slight booze, with a decent amount of hop. Honestly, it's fairly delicate for the amount of alcohol.
T: The clear highlight here. The flavor is never too in your face, but also gives you honey, alcohol, and hops at every point.
F: A little light, I could have used something more here.

Wow, total sleeper from the Super Hoppy Holidays variety pack and mote than held its own against personal favorites Batch 5000 and PGGB.
Pours a light, golden color with lots of floaty particulates in suspension. Aromas are big on pine, juicy orange ronds, floral and herbal goodness, with sweet, biscuity malt. The taste is ridiculously balanced between bitter piney, resinous, and rind flavors and juicy and sweet malty flavors. Extremely well crafted.

Pours hazy orange. Foamy, short, white head that lasts a while with good lacing.
Smells Pine, melon, orange, citrus peel and bready malt.
Taste citrus peel, orange, bready Malt and melon. Followed by Piney and light berry hints. Finishes dry with a pine linger. Medium body and creamy medium carbonation.
