Tunnel Bear is a barrel aged Sour Rye Brown Ale. This beer is a dark brown in color and pours with a slightly off-white head. Tunnel Bear has aromas of fruit, lightly toasted caramel, and oak. Light in body, this Sour Brown Ale is initially tart, but moves into flavors of oak, roasted chocolate, and caramel. The finish is smooth with very little bitterness.

A - Dark body, clear, with orange highlights. Not much head, a bit of tan on the edge, and no real lacing to speak of.
S - Strong hit of wood and lactic acidity.
T - Follows the nose, primarily as acidic hit, with a follow up of mild spiciness, while underneath a long run of oak.
M - Moderate carbonation and bright, brisk acidity that falls just short of a puckering hit.
O - This is a nicely crafted sour, fairly monochromatic but quite drinkable. Solid.

A short Short's review. I hand't heard of this beer before, but when I saw it on the tap list I knew I had to try it. It's pretty nice, it's on the lighter end of the style and it isn't very sour, but it has enough of those wild aspects to fit in the style. I think it would be great if they amped it up and made it a little bolder while aging it in some wine barrels to add some extra complexity. I would order it again and it would be nice to see it in bottles.

Pour is dark brown with a soapy, off white head. Aroma is caramel malt, tart fruit. Taste is not as sour as I was expecting, especially after having 600 lbs of Sin, Short's sour stout. Caramel, biscuit, cocoa, prune, and slightly sour.
Edit 7/15/17, finally got a Private Stache bottle, and besides the flavors above, there's a nice bite of sour cherry as well.
