Slurm is a hazy, juicy New England style India Pale Ale. Light orange in color with a prominent haze, Slurm has aromas of pineapple and mango. Big tropical fruit flavors hit you up front and carry through to the finish. This easy drinking, medium-bodied New England style IPA has a slightly bitter, dry finish.

I got a couple of cans of this beer from a mixed 18pck that I bought from my local meijer store. It poured a hazy golden with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had ripe tropical fruit notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bright sweet malt base with mild ripe pineapple and mango presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Looks like watered down orange juice with extra pulp. Hazy pale orange with a significant white fizzy head. Smells of orange, grapefruit, bread. Tastes mildly of grapefruit rind with more of the sweet juicy flavors overtaking it. Bitterness level is fairly high. Bite on the tongue stays in finish. Full body, medium carbonation. This is a very drinkable beer.

12 fl. oz bottle
Served in a tulip glass
This beer pours like pineapple juice. It is topped with an inch of off white head that leaves little lacing.
The aroma is tropical fruit with pineapple standing out to my untrained nose.
The taste is tropical fruit, and I can taste oats, almost like an oatmeal flavor in the middle. There is some very mild bitterness in the finish.
Medium mouthfeel
It was a unique interpretation of the style. I am kind of screwed up because I live near Hoof Hearted, so they are my source for NE style IPA's. I compare all of this style to my original source, so I have a skewed perspective. This was juicy, but the oatmeal aspect was odd to me. I enjoy Short's and will continue to try as many of their beers as I can. I love the variety.

A - Super hazy orangish white, white head, tons of lacing.
S - The nose is full of wild hops, pith and pine. There is a bit of cat, a strong citrus note, and ongoing juiciness.
T - Flavor is lush fruit, grapefruit at the front. Pineapple does shine through, and a bit of mango, too, but the hops imparts a strong hit of grapefruit flesh. The close brings a bit of pith, but it is in no way punishing, the bitterness a mild thread that becomes more apparent as the flavors tail off.
M - Feel is soft and clean. Slick open, very gentle close, but no fatigue or silt here. Very refined.
O - Excellent take on this new IPA style. The result is a fine drinking experience, high in fruit content, low in bitterness, and a silky feel that marks this approach to the IPA. I've had a number of beers that play games, hinting at NE style but failing to deliver. This is the second Michigan brewer, Old Nation being the first, that I've had that is not playing around. And so much the better.
