The Mighty Shorse is a dank and fruity Imperial IPA brewed with a blend of Azacca, Citra, El Dorado, and Motueka hops and peaches. Very hazy and dark copper in color with an off white and frothy head, The Mighty Shorse smells of floral citrus and fresh peach. Initial flavors of sweet peach are quickly matched by notes of dank citrus followed by a slightly bitter finish. This medium-bodied and refreshing Imperial IPA has a thick and juicy mouth feel.

Pours a dark amber color with a medium white head on top. Has a super strong peach smell intertwined with hops. Light watered down peach taste along with some malt aftertaste

This beer is supposedly brewed with peaches but I don't get that taste at all. It uses a hops combo that I really like, and it makes me think of Pliny the Elder from Russian River.

7.8% ABV, 44 IBU. 12oz can. PKG 10/14/25 per the bottom of the can.
Pours out to a very clean medium amber, forming a modest light yellow head with poor retention and moderate lacing. About 2.25 carbs or so. The nose smells candied, like caramelized sugar at first, followed by grilled peaches and grilled pineapple. The mouthfeel is quick and gone with a surprisingly light body considering the ABV, definitely not what I would consider "thick and juicy".A little syrupy towards the end, with a hoppy acidity. The taste is a recap of the nose...caramelized sugar, butterscotch candy (diacetyl), medium light bitterness, green vegetal hops, moderate bitterness, alcohol pepper. The hops are completely faded and weak for a DIPA.
To be frank, I don't like this at all. It tastes like a bottled homebrewed extract IPA that is over 2 years old...caramelized candied diacetyl. There is no floral citrus, fresh peach, dank or juicy mouthfeel as they describe. Disappointing. I will be giving the other 2 cans away. I cannot recommend this beer.

Not a bad imperial IPA but I expected a little more from such a great local brewery. In the end, the strong peach aroma and taste was just too overwhelming. It got better and more mellow as the beer warmed slightly. Nice orange-yellow color that was just a little hazy with some mild head and scant spotty lingering lacing. Smells of a mixture of fruity and herbal hops, with that strong peach aroma. Tastes similarly, along with some vanilla creaminess and malt. Smooth mild thin mouthfeel, good carbonation. Not bad but not as hearty as I was expecting from a double IPA. And just too much peach.

12 fl. oz bottle
Served in a Michigan Wolverines pint glass
This beer pours a deep amber, almost a copper color. It has a slight haze and is topped with two inches of tan head that leaves nice lacing rings.
The aroma is malty and fruity. I really don't get much from the hops.
The taste is sweet. I taste the peach and some faded hops.
Syrupy mouthfeel with low carbonation
This beer is almost two months old. I am dumb for not checking dates. I know better. I have had it on draft before, so I know it is a solid beer.

Definitely a top 5 Short's DIPA. Upon pouring, the copper colored liquid releases a burst of juicy peach aroma. Once in the glass, floral and honey biscuit notes come out. Peach flavor hits the tongue first, with toffee and caramel malt riding along with a orange and grapefruit pith finish.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 8/16/2018. Pours slightly hazy deep golden orange/amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with awesome retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of steaming carbonation. Aromas of big lightly tart/tangy peaches, apricot, fruit skin, lemon, lime, tangerine, grapefruit, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, watermelon, guava, berries, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, toasted bread, light honey/caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, peaches, and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lightly tart/tangy peaches, apricot, fruit skin, lemon, lime, tangerine, grapefruit, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, watermelon, guava, berries, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, toasted bread, light honey/caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness; and slight fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of peaches, apricot, fruit skin, lemon, lime, tangerine, grapefruit, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, watermelon, guava, berries, citrus peel/zest, pepper, pine, toasted bread, light honey/caramel, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, peaches, and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/sticky, lightly resinsous/rind, and slightly tangy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 7.8%. Overall this is an awesome fruit DIPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, peaches, and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/drying finish, not aggressive. Great hop profile as expected of Azacca, Citra, El Dorado, and Motueka. Great balance of juicy hops/fruit, with some dank/earthy notes; nice bready malt backbone, with mild residual sweetness. A really enjoyable offering, and great style example as expected.
