New Style (5.3% ABV – 75 IBU) is a dry-hopped Bavarian lager with Mandarina and Huell Melon hops brewed in celebration of 7 Monks 6th Anniversary. With a clear straw color and prominent white head, this beer has aromas and notes of citrus, strawberry, honeydew, and bready malt. New Style is very crisp and clean with initial flavors of florals and a slightly spicy backdrop from the German noble hops. Light-bodied, this beer finishes dry with a slight bitterness.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass.
Pours wit a lightly hazed golden body and a tall, frothy white head.
This is highly hopped for style, but with just a bit more bitterness than usual. Citrus and grassy note prevail.
Feel: Light bodied with well set, medium+ carbonation.

12 ounce bottle into lager glass, bottled on 3/19/2018. Pours slightly hazy pale golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense and rocky white head with amazing retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, lemon, peach, melon, berry, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, cracker, white bread dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, lemon, peach, melon, berry, citrus peel/zest, light pepper, pine, cracker, white bread dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, lemon, peach, melon, berry, citrus peel/zest, light pepper, pine, cracker, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, with zero yeast notes present. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with very smooth, moderately crisp, and bready/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.3%. Overall this is an awesome dry hopped German pilsener. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink; with the moderately bitter/drying finish, never aggressive. Great showcase of Mandarina, Huell Melon, and noble character. Very vibrant, dank, and earthy hops, with a balanced clean pils malt backbone. A really enjoyable offering.

Glad to see this one finally in bottles! Poured from bottle to pint glass. Straw colored liquid with a few fingers of nice, rocky foam atop. Clear. The aroma hits before the glass is fully raised to the lips, with honeydew hitting first followed by white bread and some berries. Bready, crackery malts hit the palate first, followed by melon and barely-there fruitt notes before a clean and peppery noble finish washes it away. Highly enjoyable, and one of the finest lagers made by Short's.
