Hot Loins in an Experimental Aphrodisiac Ale brewed with goji berries, honey, dark sweet cherries, and In the Mood Tea from Light of Day Organics. Deep pink in color, this romance inspiring beer carries aromas of cinnamon, berry, and roses. Medium-bodied, this beer leads with subtle flavors of spicy cinnamon before transforming into a blend of berries and herbal tea qualities. Hot Loins finishes dry with a lingering floral flavor.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 2/2/2018. Pours slightly hazy reddish/pinkish orange color with a 1 finger fairly dense and rocky light pink head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas big tart/tangy cherries, raspberry, cranberry, fruit skin, cinnamon, cardamom, peppercorn, clove, rose, anise, nutmeg, black tea, honey, caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruit, tea, spices, honey, and dark/bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of lightly tart/tangy cherries, raspberry, cranberry, fruit skin, cinnamon, cardamom, peppercorn, clove, rose, anise, nutmeg, black tea, honey, caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/floral/grassy bitterness and peppery spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of cherries, raspberry, cranberry, fruit skin, cinnamon, cardamom, peppercorn, clove, rose, anise, nutmeg, black tea, honey, caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness for a good bit. Nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruit, tea, spices, honey, and dark/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance and light fruit tartness balance; with zero astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitter/spiciness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/sticky, and lightly tangy/acidic balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol for 6.9%. Overall this is a very good fruit/spiced beer. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruit, tea, spices, honey, and dark/bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/spicy/drying finish. Would have liked it more if the big Cherry/Goji berry presence of the aromas carried through to the flavors, but it's very well balanced in taste. A very enjoyable, unique, and well made experimental beer as expected otherwise.

Poured from bottle to nonic pint glass. Where the last version was a chestnut brown, this one is a striking reddish color, and clear. A finger of pink-hinged foam floats on the surface. Aromas of bready malt, fruity berries, and some floral notes. On the tongue there's cinnamon, berries, cherries, and with a tea-like finish that's dry. A nice change for Hot Loins.

Color is ruby red and alluring. Smells of tea, cinnamon, rose and cherry. Taste follows the nose. Not as sweet as I expected and finish is light and surprisingly dry. Overall it gets a bit tiring in the spice towards the end of glass, not sure I want to go through a six of this.

Bottle sampled in a glass,
this ale was a clear red in the glass, I thought it looked pretty nice, there was a faint off-white cover of bubbles that had a pink hue,
the nose had berries – raspberry & cherry, a little dark fruit, cinnamon spice, pepper, toasted malt, some caramel, fruit and sugar sweetness,
the flavors were berry – cherry and raspberry, red candy, toasted malt, a little caramel, and some cinnamon spice,
the finish had some bitterness with berry and fruit sweetness, this beer was not overly sweet,
this beer had average carbonation, it had a light medium mouth feel and a little creamy,
the cinnamon gave this drink a pepper note on the nose but the cinnamon came across much lighter in the flavor,
this beer resembles a big red beer with berry and fruit,
a nice drink.
