Treefer Madness is an American IPA first brewed in celebration of HopCat’s 4/20 Party. Dank aromas of pine, grapefruit, guava, and floral notes blend with a bready backbone. Slightly hazy and orange in color, this beer has a prominent white head. The flavors mirror the aroma with dank pine notes complemented by juicy citrus. Well balanced and medium bodied, Treefer Madness finishes dry.

Pours into a standard pint a clear copper color with a lacey near half finger white head atop.I like the mix of citrus and resin, very balanced in its hop aroma profile.Like the aromas there is a balance of juiciness and pine resin on the palate with the pine winning out narrowly.A mildly sweet biscuit malt base makes this a more old school (best school) American IPA,great stuff.

Wasn't sure what to expect but this just about blew me away. I guess when you don't have high expectations of another specialty IPA, it's easy to get surprised.
The appearance was golden orange in color with a determined bone white head, lacing stayed until thoroughly rinsing the glass. The smell was WC IPA - clean and piney, very pleasant. Almost as nice as the flavor. Seriously, this really hits the right spot for me. No nonsense IPA straight up.
Definitely plan on getting a few more of these. Well done Short's!

12 fl. oz bottle
Served in an IPA glass
This beer pours amber with golden highlights. It is topped with several inches of beige head that leaves decent lacing.
The smell is citrus with light pine.
The taste is citrus and a little dank. There is mild bitterness in the pine finish.
Light bodied with an effervescent mouthfeel
This is a solid, easy drinking IPA.

Poured from bottle to nonic pint glass. Dark orange color with a chill haze. Nice finger of solid foam. Aroma is immediately apparent, lots of tropical fruit, pine, and bread yeast. Flavor is dank as advertised, with pine resin hitting the palate first followed by citrus smoothness and tropical notes. Smooth drinking.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 3/26/2019. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy deep golden/amber/light orange color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, honey, toasted biscuit, light caramel, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, honey, toasted biscuit, light caramel, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, woody, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, honey, toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, and sticky/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 6.8%. Overall this is an excellent IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the moderately bitter/resinous/drying finish, not overly aggressive. Feels like Columbus, Simcoe, Citra. Very juicy, vibrant, dank, and earthy balanced hop complexity; with a nice balancing bready malt backbone, and minimal residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on west coast style example as expected.
