Barney Blood is a Milkshake IPA brewed with raspberry, strawberry, blueberry, vanilla beans, lactose, and a huge Mosaic and Citra dryhop . With the hazy appearance of a purple-pink smoothie, this beer has a thin slightly pink head. Dank citrus aromas are present from the hops and complemented by with tart berries. Leading with tropical fruit flavors of papaya, grapefruit, and mango, it instantly shifts to tart berry. Full bodied with a very smooth mouthfeel, Barney Blood finishes slightly hoppy and creamy.

Thank you Blackop555 for this
12 oz bottle poured into a teku
A- A hazy pink grapefruit color with a small off-white head.
S- Mixed berries, some tropical fruits, some stones fruits, touch of caramel malts, some vanilla.
T- Mixed berries, getting mostly raspberries and strawberries, caramel malts, citrus/stone fruits from the hops, touch of vanilla.
M- Smooth, medium body.
O- This is pretty tasty, but the base base comes off more of an east coast IPA instead of a NEIPA. That being said I still enjoy this beer.

Very nice, slightly fruity hoppy beer from a great local brewery. Pours a slightly purple creamy color with foaming white head and spotty lingering lacing. Smells of some fruity hoppiness along with a good amount of vanilla, malt and a little nuttiness. Tastes mainly of the advertised berries - raspberry, blueberry, strawberry, maybe some blackberry - but not as sweet as I was expecting, which is a good thing. Much less sweet stout and much more IPA with some sweeter malt backbone. Not quite juicy, which is what I normally associate with NE-style IPAs. Smooth, mild, slightly creamy mouthfeel and good carbonation. Enjoyable and well-hidden higher ABV.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 3/5/2019. Pours very hazy deep reddish/pinkish orange/amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy light pink head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big lightly tart/tangy raspberry, strawberry, blueberry, fruit skin/seeds, tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, citrus peel/zest, light peppercorn/pine, vanilla, cream, wheat, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, berries, vanilla, lactose, and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lightly tart/tangy raspberry, strawberry, blueberry, fruit skin/seeds, tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, citrus peel/zest, light peppercorn/pine, vanilla, cream, wheat, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Mild pine, citrus peel/zest, herbal, floral, grassy, spicy bitterness; and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of raspberry, strawberry, blueberry, fruit skin/seeds, tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, citrus peel/zest, light peppercorn/pine, vanilla, cream, wheat, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, berries, vanilla, lactose, and bready malt flavors; with a solid malt/bitterness and tart/tangy fruit balance; with no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness and fruit tang/tartness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready/grainy, and lightly sticky/acidic/tangy mouthfeel that is fantastic. Minimal warming alcohol for 8.1%. Overall this is an excellent milkshake IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, berries, vanilla, lactose, and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV, with the mildly bitter/tart/drying finish; fantastically soft feel. Great Citra/Mosaic profile, with great balance of berries. Very juicy hops/fruit, with light dankness; with perfectly balanced lactose and wheat/oat/malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and impressively spot on style example. Not overwhelming on any aspect.

Barney Blood is a Milkshake IPA brewed with raspberry, strawberry, blueberry, vanilla beans, lactose, and a huge Mosaic and Citra dry hop. This is an interesting balance of sweet and sour, I get more sour beer qualities out of this rather than IPA qualities.

Very nice Milkshake-style IPA. Poured from bottle to snifter. Color is purple, as advertised, with a murky appearance and two fingers of pinkish foam with moderate retention. Prickly, medium feel. Giant aroma from the dry hopping, lots of citrus and pine. Some fruit and birthday cake aromas too. Lots of berry flavor and a tart kick in the tonsils that smooths out as it warms. Follows with some tropical fruit, with creamy vanilla and a low-bitter finish.
