Yoda's Blend 2020 is an IPA made with a complex blend of hops never to be replicated again. Copper in color, this beer has currant, spruce/pine and tropical notes in the aroma and flavor. Using The Force, our brewers have concocted an out of this world brew only to be seen in the 2020 Super Hoppy Holidays Variety Pack.

Wishing us a hoppy holiday, Short's brewers bring the season a unique hop blend that fuels a classic American IPA taste, of long, long ago and palates far, far away.
Yoda's Blend pours with a deep amber before floating a generous ivory froth. As its strong pine, citrus and berry scents prove inviting to the nose, its taste stars with a malty introduction that circulates around shortcake, caramel and pecan.
As the hops awaken on the middle palate, its malty upstart starts to dissolve and allow for the full flavor of hops to deliver a strong old-school presence of grapefruit and orange. But a newer approach bring a light blueberry and lime character that shares passionfruit and hints of mango. As the taste rolls along, a late palate of sheer pine coats the throat with bitter, sappy resins.
Medium bodied and trending hop-dominant, the classic Midwest balance is in full swing, keeping enough of a malt foundation to support the hops but not getting in their way. A finish of gin spice with hints of wine tannins chase the taste into a long and gripping bitterness.

12 fl. oz can
Served in a nonic pint glass
This beer pours a murky copper color. It is topped with an inch of tan head that leaves virtually no lacing.
I get a slightly medicinal smell along with some berry and juniper notes.
The taste is malty and sweet. I get some ripe red berry. This is not a lot of hops flavor. I get a little pine and medicinal flavors in the finish.
Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel
It's different. Which I think that can be said of a lot of Short's beers. That appeals to me. This one is nothing special though. I like others in the holiday pack better.

Quite a excellent version! By nature, it's a much different animal than last year's. This version looks rusty orange with a few fingers of foam. Nice tropical and citrus aromas dominant. Slurm Lord topical goodness is prominent with a cranberry/Spruce kick from Juicy Tree on the finish. Batch 10000 is somewhat detectable, but Liberator and Cat Grass are buried in the layers.
