We partnered up with Pure Michigan again to celebrate the long-awaited transition from a dark, cold winter to a bright, hopefully warm spring with Pure Michigan IPL, a lager that we hopped to heck. We hope drinking this beer makes you think of fresh buds on trees, snow melt, trilliums popping up from the just thawed earth, and the joy of knowing a Pure Michigan summer is just around the corner.

Visually, this looks like the hazy equivalent of grey water… neither vibrant gold nor a murky straw, but more in the vicinity of ‘do I need to clean my glasses?’
I’m getting a welcomed papaya and pineapple on the nose, present but light. The sip follows, with a mild hop presence and just a faint bitter note on the finish. All in all, however, this was a miss.

Look - Hazy orangish with a white head, would guess it to be a hazy instead of a IPL
Smell - floral citrus
Taste - slightly bitter floral citrus
Feel - pretty light and crisp, pretty easy going
OVerall - just an ok beer

Appearance - The beer was yellow in appearance with visible carbonation and a bubbly head.

Smell - Bitterness was apparent in the nose. It gave hints of a dry lager.

Taste - The profile was quite bitter. It almost seemed to have bret IPA. There were light hints of lemon and some caramel. The finish was dry.

Mouthfeel- The body had some thickness that allowed the bitterness to linger.

Overall - The beer was rather one dimensional.

Poured straw yellow and capped with a white head that dissipated quickly. The beer was closer to a light amber color in the glass.
The aroma was lost on me, chemically damaged nose, but I did get some grass and biscuits.
The flavor, the taste- almost like a Pilsner that’s had pounds of hops added in. The biscuits are there, the grass is still there, and then surrounding them all is hops and their bitterness. In a tasty way though. I wish it was a pint instead of a 12 oz. can so I could figure it out more.
The feel was excellent, can’t complain or comment on any improvement.
Well, I still wanted more when I finished, so it must be okay!

March 2022 Specialty Release - 6 pack
12 oz. can dated 031822 (03/18/22) - 5.1% ABV / 80 IBU
Brewed and canned in Elk Rapids, MI
Poured into an unbranded pilsner glass

Look - Pours a dense and fizzy off-white head that sticks around. Slightly cloudy, pale golden appearance with a good amount of streaming bubbles.
Smell - The scent is very dank, piney, and floral with a hint of citrus. Also getting some juicy berry qualities.
Taste - Taste follows the nose with strong and fresh hops dominating. The aftertaste has a nice bitterness that isn't overwhelming. Getting more biscuity malt in the taste than the scent.
Feel - Light-medium bodied with a sharp and crisp mouthfeel and finishes pretty dry.
Overall - Very fresh floral hop flavors and incredibly easy to drink.
