A: dark brown in the glass with a slight ruby hue when held to the light. Pale tan/white head, thick with done frog eyes.
S: a bit of a tangy smell up front followed by molasses, then vanilla and oak. Hint of raisin in the finish.
T: roasted malt, oak and vanilla, the finish is coffee and cream. A hint of maple in the finish as well.
M: creamy mouth feel, very smooth, with petite carbonation, and a slight stickiness to the finish.
O: overall this beer seems like a good vessel for the bourbon aging, I've tried the bourbon added in "beer barrels" not sure if it was this beer though. Gotta say, if so Short's got the better end of the deal.
