(had at Amnesia, N Beech St, Portland - poured in a mixer glass)
A: lighter in color than most - a rusty amber.... decent initial foam, nice cap retention
S: a little messy... woody, moderate grassy-hoppy... blandish tinned plum esters, some pale and crystal malt
T: marginal-moderately fruity-hoppier than other local Alts, little more bitter as well.... nice pale malt flavor but muted by hops and assertive toasty-dryness.... fairly bold grainy Munich or specialty malt flavor - slight floral esters and alcohol
M: light-medium bodied (could use a lil more fullness), mostly clean, slightly dirty (hop bitter?), finishes fairly dry
O: for me, knowing the style is supposed to have some hops, I'm expecting some but not this much... if it's getting in the way of the malt and yeast characters, it's off - and it is... the beer is fine but it never sings "Alt" and it's largely forgettable

Very nice Alt from Amnesia that was served at the Single Hop Festival in June. The hop used was Saphir which worked with the slightly nutty flavour on the finish. There was a slight hint of Tangerine and black pepper in the beer which added to the complexity. Well made and executed

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
