Opened during my Night Of Powering Through Random Extras.
Ugly, boring pour; zero head or lace. Aroma is way off style and kinda fruity too. Taste follows suit with off flavors and musty ingredients. Weak, watery body. Underwhelming at every turn, avoid this one.

thanks to injuredreserve for this one. poured into a deschutes snifter.
a - cap was barely on when i opened it, the brew poured deep pewter black with a thin cream white head that hung out all bubbly and frothy. streaky lacing if at all.
s - charred roasted malts. par for the course. some chocolate but mostly roasted malt.
t - exactly as the nose suggests, roasted malt. one trick pony, but well done for what it is. some vanilla in the finish.
m - to style. charred and fizzy. light and charcoal like.
o - overall, this seems to be a standard porter...to style. great char presence, plenty of roast. not too robust and not too much in any direction. if someone asked me what a porter is like, this is a good one to pour as it seems to catch the style just right. nothing stand out about it other than just being classic.

Poured into a plastic cup to watch the Mardi Gras parades by.
A: dark brown with a half finger tan head that quickly dissipates. Good lacing.
S: Malty, chocolate, leather.
T: coffee with light chocolate, slightly astringent. A citrusy, tangy finish. Lightly burnt/roasted. Just the right smattering of hops.
M: Medium; creamy carbonation.
O: A robust porter; gets your attention in a hurry. A good effort from Z's.

12 oz bottle poured into a tulip.
Pours a thin chocolate color with a retentive, creamy tan head. Milk chocolate and cocoa powder forward sweet aroma with mild roast malt and hop bitterness. Slightly thin, watery body with soft carbonation. Very weak malt or roast presence in the flavor with a strong powdery chocolate taste and then...nothing. A sub-average porter at best.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass.
It's a dark brown color with a finger or so of off-white head.
It has a great porter aroma, coffee and chocolate and roasted malt notes. Spot on.
The taste is a little muted like a lot of porters, but still quite nice. The roasted malt notes come out strongest, lending a thick bitterness to the end of the sip.
It's thinner than expected but still a good beer and the best Zea's option.

Big thanks goes out to optimator13 for sending me this one as a part of The Small Aquatic Mammal BIF '11! Served from bottle into a Warsteiner mug. Poured a deep reddish-brown with a one finger light tan head that subsided to a minimal amount slowly. There was no lacing evident throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, caramel, dark chocolate, and coffee. The flavor was of sweet malt, cream, nutmeg, and slight coffee. It had a light feel on the palate with mild carbonation. Overall this was a good brew, but far from awe-inspiring. No aspect of this one was robust at all. This lack of robustness and complexity killed this one for me. Worth trying for the Porter fans out there, but that's about it.

Thanks to injureredresearve for this one. Poured into pint glass. Dark brown with a light tan head with no lacing. Smells of toasted malts with a very present smoky aroma. Taste is very similar to the the smell, slightly bready, picking up some caramel malt, a ton of smoke, and just enough hop bitterness. Moithfeel medium body and carbonation. Overall not a bad porter, I liked the smoky flavor
