This is the only place I've ever seen to offer a roggen, so I had to take advantage of my good fortune. The color is reddish-amber with a light haze. The head is pretty good, but doesn't last too long. The aroma is strikingly similar to Crescent City's Weiss, there is definenly a clovey hefe smell and an overall spicy nose. The taste is of dark toasted malts and the hefe-like flavors. Didn't really taste anything that seemed like rye. This seems very much like a dunkleweizen. Still this is a tasty brew and well worth giving a try.
