some people would really like this brew, but alas i was struggling with it after being initially impressed. just wasnt balanced enuff for my liking, but with all due respect, this did have the potential to be a very fine beer indeed. just needs a bit of refinement and could be a 4 out of five.
light yellow color that was quite cloudy with a persistent white head and lively bubble action happening. impressed with the nose. firm malt presence, with a lovely sweet element, orchard fruit touches and floral hops. alas the remainder of the beer didnt quite follow on from this. did have a nice malt and fruit punch to it, but ended up being far too sweet, and then the hops just didnt do enuff to finish it off. there was some bitterness there, but a brew as sweet as this needs a big hop character that finishes big and on the dry side. but it didnt happen. ended up getting very cloying in its sweetness and i found there was no way i could possibly go another. they really need to work more with the hops on this brew.
showed some promise early did this golden ale, but did not live up to the wraps. could be a real keeper, but just not doing enuff at this point to get a decent rating. hopefully next time i go there they have gone to work on it and come up with something more balanced.
