The bartender said this was from an original 1850's recipe.
Poured black with dark brown edges and a small but creamy beige head. Smells of roasted malt, dark chocolate and coffee.
Sweet tangy flavor. Grainy roasted malt, cocoa and coffee.
Earthy with hints of tobacco and a bittersweet finish with a spicy, almost citrusy hop presence.
Medium bodied with a rich chewy mouthfeel and good carbonation. Excellent drinkability.
Good solid Porter.
