And the next thousand starts here. Served in tulip. Poured a very nice honey-gold color with 3/4 inch of white head that had medium retention and light lacing.
The aroma was fairly typical, nice grains and semi-spicy yeast, with just a hint of fruitiness. The plum taste was a bit more noticeable on the palate than in the nose, and contrasted nicely with the yeast and grain. There was a bit of alcohol apparent at the finish as well.
The body was good, perhaps a bit on the lighter side of typical, and had a nicely dry finish. While the drinkability was basically good, the alcohol taste hurt the enjoyment somewhat. Overall, a nice take on the style, not particularly outstanding from it's compatriots, but pretty nice, in spite of the hotness. Worth a shot if you see it.
