an oaty saison, not overly unique, but very very well made. the yeast is less interesting than it could be, not winey or viniferous in any way, not funky or barny either, just loaded with bright fruity esters. the oats bring it back down to earth with some sweet weighty body, and the wheat malt rounds it out. its got a grassy dried hay complexion from the hops and yeast together, maybe noble region varietals put together. it could pass to me as a wheat beer though, just not quite enough yeast character for me, for the style, but i like the beer a lot as a beer. fuller body from the oats is really nice, and an earthy round finish feels good on the palate with the elevated carbonation levels. one of those beers that could work as an introduction to the style for those who drink less flavorful beer, i see the mass appeal factor here.
