This beer is basically an aged version of their Black Jacob, which is an organic black saison.
Served in a 12oz snifter.
Color: Dark color with ruby red hues when held up to light. One-finger head.
Aroma: Smooth and malty with raisin, spice and apple in the nose. Well carbonated.
Taste: Full-flavored. Raisin/spice flavors jump out. Dry with even a bit of caramel and apple in the finish.
Mouthfeel: Smooth and spicy.
Verdict: Very drinkable black saison. I perhaps drank it too fast but the flavors stood out as I expected from the style. I actually prefer this over the Northstar Saison.
