an easy drinking saison done with a bit of maple, flavorful and good, drinkable, a good morning or daytime beer, and awesome with their epic pizza in here, or flatbread if you insist. a richer looking brassy color with a short but sudsy and lace leaving white head from the tap, rather clear and with a low shine. the nose here is earthy, wheaty, and with a lot of minerality. the yeast defines it, but its subtle to me, light white wine character to it, a green pear ester, and maybe a hint of coriander, but this isnt all estery and spicy, its mellow, the maple is almost nonexistent in the nose, although there is some mild generic sweetness in the center of it, almost a caramel, light herbal hops way back. the flavor is a bit more integrated and i do taste some back end maple to this, although it seems either really minimally dosed or mostly fermented out, it adds a little earthiness thats nice with the wheat, but its not a huge flavor player to me. the yeast has some light metallic character, but has a red apple and faint white pepper thing happening too, hay and straw, overall this is pleasant, warms up well, food versatile, well carbonated, and real easy drinking. well refined too, these guys make some great beers and its always fun to go in for a few pours and a pie!
