Poured into a Duvel tulip. No freshness date.
A- Pours a medium amber color with a 1/2 inch off-white head that retains well before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and some random splotches of sheer surface foam. Semi-resilient lacing leaves small clots behind.
S- Fruity esters and spicy phenols abound with some extra anise-like notes.
T- The spice characteristic continues but there's also some banana that balances out the profile. The ABV is unknown but I would put it at around 6-6.5% Decent amount of hop bitterness that complements the fruitiness. Leans toward the sweeter end of the spectrum but again the spice does a good job of offsetting this.
M- Somewhat tangy with medium carbonation and a body leaning toward the lighter side.
O- A very well-made saison that covers the fruity aspect as well as the spicy all while maintaining a nice drinkability. Balance. Harmony. Not being mean to people. All things we should strive for.
